Fr. Mark Miller, C.PP.S.

Fr. Mark Miller, C.PP.S. was born on August 15, 1944. He is the fourth of six children, all boys except his sister who died when she was three months old. He was raised on a small farm in east central Indiana and attended grammar school in a two room school house taught by the Precious Blood Sisters from Dayton, Ohio. His parish was administered by priests of the Society of the Precious Blood.

When Fr. Mark went to the high school seminary in Canton, Ohio, his Pastor was Fr. Francis Uecker, C.PP.S. uncle of Fr. Joe. After high school, he continued his seminary training in Indiana and Ohio until he was ordained on June 19, 1971.

His first assignment was associate pastor at Sacred Heart Church in Sedalia, MO where he served for six years. He was then asked by his Community to be the College Formation Director for the college seminarians attending Rockhurst College where he served for six years. He was then asked to become the Vocation Director for his Community which he did for five years.

He was then asked to become Pastor of St. James Parish in midtown Kansas City. He served there for seven years when he was elected Provincial Director for the Community in 1995. He served two terms as Provincial until June, 2003.

Fr. Mark enjoys playing and watching sports, going to movies, and doing carpentry work.
